TODAY IN THE GARDEN

"let everything be allowed to do what it naturally does, so that its nature be satisfied." Chuang Tzu

what is going on?
It is cloudy and warm today. It rains in the afternoon and I think it is not sufficient for some plants which are in pots. Flowers are abundant and some daisies are starting to blossom. Last year the daisies self seeded generously and I have picked the seedlings and planted them somewhere else in the garden. It flowers profusely throughout summer and I like its easy going nature, all I have to do is stake the flowers and watch them blooms. Some clematis are flowering too and I could never resist them so I have a few growing against the garden fence and pergola posts. I am a fan of the huge clematis blossom but I love the ones which are medium size and deep red in colour. I also have an evergreen 'Armandii' which has not flower this year but beginning to trail up the trellis, so I will be looking forward to its show next spring.
Last year I planted three climbing rose 'Pink Perpetue' against the south facing wall and it is a tremendous sight this year (according to my opinion), it is doing really well and climbing up at a giddying height. Plenty of flower buds and I predict there will be a rose bloom in the weekend. I will take some pictures later.
talk about hosta
Hosta is another my favourite plant. There are so many types to choose from. I stick with the common ones such as 'Frances Williams', 'Holycon', 'Sum & Substance' and 'Fire & Ice'. The latter which I bought via mail and took a year to get going. I remember seeing a plant similar to a hosta in Malaysia when I was growing up and I think the large foliage really belong to a tropical garden. Slugs and snails do not disturb them much this year, I think they heard my pleas and felt sorry for me.

the sensuous shape of the calla lily always remind me of trips to Italy and Spain as it is planted around ponds and fountains

Lilac - Allium - Clematis

Scented Geranium - Mimulus - Azalea

I do not have a specific colour theme in the garden, I plant whatever plants that I feel like naturing, to feed my curiousity as well as admiration. I love experimenting and the whole garden is a testimony to that endeavour.
