what can I see?
It is May and my garden is already full of vibrant colours of different flowers and foliage. The shocking pink of azaleas, hot red tulips, lime green of Golden Hops and purple heads of Allium. The sweet smell of lilac and divinely intoxicating fragrance of Oriental lilies 'Star Gazer' fill the air with the background sound of the water fountain form the tranquil haven which I escape to every waking hour. This is the second spring for the garden and most of the plants are now beginning to establish themselves. The 'Dicentra Spectabilis' is really awesome this year with stalks which are good enough to eat. My truly happy moment to see those arching set of bleeding red hearts sway gently in the wind. So huge it has become that it blocks the path and I leave it to do so. The fern next to it is struggling under its shadow, but I am sure they will make amend with each other.

flowers and foliage
Fresh and romantic spring florals. Clockwise from left. Lilium 'Star Gazer' - the scent is beautiful. Rhododendron - six flower heads this year and worth waiting for. Acer Palmatum - scarlet burning leaves are redder than last year. Actinida Deliciosa - Kiwi fruit, female to the right, male to the left, hopefully they will meet and produces kiwi fruit. This plant originates from New Zealand and requires plenty of water. The furry dark green leaves are large and remind me of exotic climber back in Malaysia. Humulus Lupulus 'Aureus' - vigorous climber with attractive foliage and hops in the autumn which can be collected and smell like beer. Azalea - bright pink colour to demand your attention. Osmunda Regalis - fern is my favorite plant due to its reliability and undemanding nature. A lot of them are evergreen and their handsome leaves arrangement are truly magnificent.
